La Citroën Méhari à pédales est une reproduction miniature, destinée aux enfants. Avec une apogée dans les années 1970, surfant sur la popularité de la vraie Méhari, icône de loisirs et de plage. La plus célèbre reproduction à pédales a été produite par la marque Ampatoys (parfois simplement appelée Mehari à pédales des années 70). Fidèle au modèle original, la version à pédales reprenait la carrosserie en plastique et les lignes épurées et fonctionnelles, souvent dans des couleurs vives (orange, beige). Contrairement à la structure en plastique ABS de la vraie Méhari, la version jouet était souvent en plastique thermoformé, avec une carrosserie légère. Destinée aux enfants, elle fonctionnait par propulsion à pédales, offrant un jouet robuste pour les jeux en plein air. Aujourd’hui, ces Méhari à pédales sont des objets de collection très recherchés par les passionnés de Citroën et de jouets vintage.

The Citroën Méhari pedal car is a miniature replica designed for children. Its heyday was in the 1970s, riding the wave of popularity of the real Méhari, an icon of leisure and beach life. The most famous pedal replica was produced by the Ampatoys brand (sometimes simply called the 1970s pedal Méhari). Faithful to the original model, the pedal version featured the same plastic body and clean, functional lines, often in bright colors (orange, beige). Unlike the ABS plastic structure of the real Méhari, the toy version was often made of thermoformed plastic, with a lightweight body.Designed for children, it was powered by pedals, offering a robust toy for outdoor play. Today, these pedal Méharis are highly sought-after collector’s items for Citroën enthusiasts and vintage toy collectors.

De Citroën Méhari trapauto is een miniatuurreplica, speciaal ontworpen voor kinderen. De hoogtijdagen waren in de jaren 70, toen de echte Méhari, een icoon van vrije tijd en strandleven, net zo populair was. De bekendste trapauto werd geproduceerd door het merk Ampatoys (soms simpelweg de Méhari trapauto uit de jaren 70 genoemd). Trouw aan het origineel, had de trapauto dezelfde kunststof carrosserie en strakke, functionele lijnen, vaak in felle kleuren (oranje, beige). In tegenstelling tot de ABS-kunststof constructie van de echte Méhari, was de speelgoedversie vaak gemaakt van thermogevormd plastic, met een lichtgewicht carrosserie. De Méhari trapauto was ontworpen voor kinderen en werd aangedreven door pedalen, waardoor het een robuust speelgoed was voor buitenspelen. Tegenwoordig zijn deze trapauto’s zeer gewilde verzamelobjecten voor Citroën-liefhebbers en verzamelaars van vintage speelgoed.
